DESCRIPTION

This program aims to provide educators with the necessary tools and knowledge to create and sustain inclusive educational environments that celebrate and support diversity.

Through a blend of interactive workshops, lectures, case studies, and practical application activities, participants will engage deeply with the concepts of inclusion and diversity, conflict resolution, stereotypes and continuous improvement in their educational practices learning how to effectively integrate these principles into their teaching practices.

Additionally, the course offers the chance to connect with fellow professional in education, creating a network of professionals committed to inclusive excellence, from whom one can draw support, inspiration, and collaboration opportunities.


COURSE OBJECTIVES

• Define key concepts of diversity, inclusion, and equity within an educational context.

• Recognize the significance of diversity and inclusion in creating an equitable learning environment.

• Identify effective strategies to promote inclusion in educational settings.

• Learn how to create and implement inclusive curricula and teaching methods.

• Develop skills to support diverse students, including those with different cultural backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.

• Enhance communication skills to foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere.

• Understand the role of institutional policies in promoting diversity and inclusion.

- Tools for self-assessment of biases

3. Institutional Policies and Advocacy

- Overview of policies that promote diversity and inclusion

- Strategies for advocating for institutional change

- Examples of successful diversity initiatives in educational institutions

4. Inclusive Curriculum Design

- Principles of inclusive curriculum development

- Incorporating diverse perspectives into the curriculum

- Case studies of successful inclusive educational programs

5. Effective Communication in Diverse Classrooms

- Techniques for effective cross-cultural communication

- Building a classroom environment that respects and values diversity

LEARNING RESULTS

By the end of this course, participants will:

• Be equipped to communicate effectively and supportively in diverse classrooms.

• Understand how to support diverse learners, including those with different abilities and cultural backgrounds.

• Be knowledgeable about institutional policies that promote diversity and inclusion and be prepared to advocate for positive changes.

 

COURSE FEE:

The course fee is 80 Euros per participant per day.

This fee does not cover some expenses like accommodation or travel etc. Costs covering enrolment fees for staff mobility format ‘Courses and training’. (Source: Erasmus+ Program Guide)
