The Training Course aimed to bring the problems that refugees face into the European society to the surface. It is a fact, that not all European countries has stand towards refugees, with the same will to help and to comfort people who have lost their countries, their properties and practically their lives.
It is more than obvious that these people need our help to feel more comfortable, more wanted and more included. Seems that inclusion is the only key that will give to these people the second chance that they need to get once more on their feet.

How was the project?
Educational Organisation Sharp Minds is announcing the fulfilment of the Erasmus+/Youth project code: 2020-EL02-KA105-006416 “Youth Workers for Refugees”. The participating groups, under the responsibility of the sending organisations, were obliged to make presentations on the controversial issue of the inclusion and integration of refugees and immigrants in their countries. The program’s organisers offered the necessary theoretical base about the legal terminology that national and European Institutes like the International Amnesty and the Organisation of United Nations use. Furthermore, the organisers clarified the legal terminology and the differences (refugee, immigrant asylum seekers, dislocated persons, etcetera) by always consulting the nationally recognised legal prototypes through the extensive presentation as an in-depth discussion.
The activities based on Non-Formal Education, Methods included empathy workshops, presentations and conversations, simulations, brainstorming, reflection, groups, and experiential workshops. In addition, the program activities included related activities of cultural interest, as the participants visited the Museum of Acropolis, the Parthenon and the “Ellinikon Experience Park.”
During the implementation of the training, the Organisers asked the participants to give feedback after the end of the activities. The feedback was about the activities implemented, the participant’s level of satisfaction, and the response according to the learning need in case of any correction and readjustment of the program that needed to be made. At the end of the training, the process of the Final Evaluation of the project was held in which the participants rated the activities’ performance and the sufficiency of the Trainers, their accommodation and diet and the quality of the cultural activities.
The project provided official European Recognition through the issue of the YouthPass Certificate for each participant. Firstly, the organisers called the participants to complete the certificate via the YouthPass platform with whether they thought it necessary to be written on it and to emphasise the acquired skills that either emerged or were reinforced during the program of activities. After processing and controlling the certificates, the organisers continued with the issue of the YouthPass.
